Rammstein - Mein Herz Brennt

Mein Herz brennt (German for "My heart burns") is a song by the german metal band Rammstein.

I was so blown away with this song video because it went beyond a metal band and bordered into the arena of classical opera.

As an artist I rate this highly as a very creative piece in the style of the greatest artists that ever lived.

This piano version of the song was released as a single on 7 December 2012.

It is suspected this song is based on a german lullaby by Johannes Brahms called  "Sandmännchen" (Sandman)

There are 2 video versions here - One is the original and the other is a breakdown of the song by the Vocalyst - Bethany Hickman (vocal coach)

Now, dear children, pay attention
I am the voice from the pillow
I brought you something
Have ripped it out of my chest
With this heart, I have the power
Blackmail the eyelids
I sing until the new day comes
A bright light in the heaven's sky

My heart burns

They come to you at night
Demons, ghosts and black elves
They crawl up from the cellar rows
And will take a look under your blanket

Little children listen now
I am the voice from the pillow
I brought something to you
A bright light in the heaven's sky

My heart burns
My heart burns

They come to you at night
And steal your small hot tears
They wait till the moon awakes
And push them in my cold veins

With this heart I have the power
To blackmail the eyelids
I sing 'til the day wakes up
A bright light in the heaven's sky

[Chorus]
My heart burns
My heart burns
My heart burns
My heart burns
